"As architects we are always looking for new materials and methods that match our vision.
We knew several companies that made cast concrete fireplace surrounds and went online to research them. After locating several, we found Flying Turtle Cast Concrete to be very responsive to our inquiry and the fact that they were fairly close to us was an added plus. We had a very precise design style that we wanted and Flying Turtle said they could execute it - so then we asked for color and finish samples which were quickly provided. The clients and we agreed that they were exactly what we were looking for and we included Flying Turtle in our plans and specifications even though we hadn't worked with them previously.
When the pricing came in they were reasonable and the homeowners gave us permission to have the contractor proceed with Flying Turtle.
All correspondence and negotiations went very smoothly and when Flying Turtle arrived on site for the installation everyone was impressed with the products and their performance. There were absolutely no problems with the color, finish and joining of fairly unforgiving components. Coordination between Flying Turtle and our contractor was seamless despite our structural concerns about building a heavy concrete floating hearth seat; Flying Turtle provided framing instructions that proved to be perfect and everything worked and fits.
As designers we are always exploring unknown conditions and trying to make ideas into reality - Flying Turtle provided a solution that was absolute perfection and made it easy to achieve. We will definitely look to them again for our future custom concrete needs.

Mat Rogers, Owner and Creator of Flying Turtle completed design and construction of our Showcase home in 2008. Located at 1013 Enslen Avenue in Modesto, California, the home combines modern architectural style with the beauty and versatility of concrete from floor to ceiling.
